You are welcome to the Department of Mathematics, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. The Department came into existence since the establishment of the University in 1976 as a Department of Mathematics and Statistics. In 1978, the Department of Statistics was carved out of the department. Mathematics programme develops in students’ self-confidence in handling problems with minimal or no supervision. Graduates of the programme acquired sufficient knowledge to develop confidence in appreciating and solving problems in general. The syllabus for the Undergraduate Mathematics and Postgraduate Programmes which were drawn up has fully satisfying the minimum academic standard required by the National University Commission
